What We’re About

Convergency explores where technology, productivity, and business intersect—and actually work together in real life.

We’re not here to sell you productivity theater or the latest AI hype. We focus on practical applications: the tools that deliver, the workflows that stick, and the strategies that make sense for people with actual jobs and constraints.

Meet Dan Wilson

I’m a Business Systems Analyst at a mid-sized financial services company, which means I spend my days translating between technical teams and business stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and making technology work for people who don’t have time for complexity.

I started writing about productivity and tech because I got tired of advice written by people who haven’t worked a traditional job in years. Most “productivity experts” don’t deal with:

  • Rigid schedules and fixed deadlines
  • Office politics and collaboration friction
  • Limited control over your workload
  • The reality of balancing work, commuting, and life

My approach is simple: If a system requires two weeks to set up, you’ll abandon it in a month. If a tool creates more friction than it solves, it’s not a solution—it’s a problem with good marketing.

How I Test Things

Every tool, system, or strategy on Convergency comes from real use—minimum 30 days in my actual workflow:

  1. Implementation – I use it in production, not a sandbox
  2. Documentation – I track specific outcomes, not feelings
  3. Stress testing – I evaluate during both normal weeks and deadline crunches
  4. Long-term assessment – I check back after 3+ months (most tools fail here)

I only write about what’s still in my rotation after this process. No affiliate-driven fluff, no paid promotions.

Why “Convergency”?

The name reflects what this site is about: finding where different domains converge into something useful.

  • Where AI meets practical productivity (not just demos)
  • Where business tools solve actual problems (not just check feature boxes)
  • Where technology serves people (instead of the other way around)

This is where smart use cases converge.
